Funeralopolis is a story about how people adapt to a world full of conflict, and as we grow, we accept the world as it has been shown to us. Otilia lives in a post-apocalyptic and completely hostile future where breathing the surface air is toxic in the long term, and small underground societies have reverted to more traditional customs from the medieval age. Otilia’s small home is a tiny underground corner, precariously set up by a 13-year-old girl who became independent from her friend Ovidio, The Craftsman, who raised her and taught her to see the world in the innocent, curious way that characterizes our protagonist.
While Otilia explores the surface in search of resources, she finds a large cave that had been completely sealed for hundreds of years. There, she discovers a place from another time, filled with objects from the ancient era. One of these objects changes everything and leads Otilia to live a multitude of new experiences that will make her mature.
Will all these new experiences make her change her innocent and dreamy personality?
